Norwegian Christian Home cuts ribbon on revamped rehab gym in Dyker Heights * Brooklyn Paper
Briefly

The Norwegian Christian Home and Health Center in Brooklyn unveiled a newly renovated rehabilitation gym costing over $80,000 on March 19. The facility aims to improve rehabilitation services, particularly for residents recovering from strokes, arthritis, and other mobility challenges. Enhancements include modern equipment, a bathtub and washing machine area, and a car simulator, all designed to facilitate residents' transitions back to independent living. The renovation was funded through community fundraising efforts, reinforcing the center's long-standing commitment to compassionate care since its founding in 1903.
We have given the gym an entirely new look by adding new equipment and training areas, all with the goal of preparing our residents for their discharge back to their homes in the community.
This is all designed to assist our residents in navigating these areas within their home.
We have also purchased a car simulator which assists residents in getting in and out of a car. No longer will we need to bring the residents out to the parking lot to achieve this goal.
This has all been done to create a more positive and effective experience for our residents.
