LGBTQ+ charter school proposed for Downtown Brooklyn
Briefly

A charter school proposed for Downtown Brooklyn could become the second in the U.S. designed for LGBTQ+ students. Miss Major Middle School aims to serve 160 students initially, growing to 400, offering admissions citywide through a lottery with a boost for District 13 applicants.
More than 580 signed a petition supporting the LGBTQ+-focused charter school. SUNY will determine the fate of nine charter school applications, including this one, on July 17.
