An inmate in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center died in a fight Wednesday afternoon - the second violent death at the troubled federal jail in as many months.
Edwin Cordero, 36, died after several inmates at the Sunset Park jail started brawling around 2:50 p.m., the federal Bureau of Prisons stated. Staff at the jail performed 'life-saving measures' and requested EMS medics, who took Cordero to an area hospital, where he died.
