Former naval storage yard transformed into innovation hubs brings thousands of jobs to Sunset Park
Briefly

A former World War I naval storehouse in Sunset Park now operates as Liberty Brooklyn, providing thousands of jobs across retail, manufacturing, and office spaces with more planned. The building underwent extensive renovations in 2011 to become a modern facility with 21st-century infrastructure while retaining historic architecture. The interior includes dozens of freight elevators to load and ship goods and spaces for traditional offices. Companies such as Kleinberg Electric and Liberty Pest Control moved in for larger footprints and historical significance. A rooftop run by Brooklyn Grange produces roughly 50,000 pounds of vegetables annually, hosting events and supplying fresh food.
