A significant fire broke out on January 24 in a four-story construction site in Bed-Stuy, quickly spreading to an adjacent three-story occupied building. Firefighters faced challenges including thick smoke and a car blocking a hydrant, but more than 100 responders launched an aggressive interior attack using four hoselines. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and both buildings were cleared of residents after searches. The fire was under control by 11:15 a.m., and the cause is being investigated by the FDNY Fire Marshal's Office.
