Lawton Corbett, 103, served as a buck sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Born on Dec. 23, 1920, in South Carolina, he passed away on May 12 in Ocean Hill.
"Maybe like six years ago, I took him to my great niece's high school, and he spoke to all of the kids about WWII," said Zelphia Calhoun, Corbett's daughter.
