Dead man found dismembered outside Brooklyn apartment building was 'not violent': family
"My son was a loving son,"
"He stays to himself and he didn't bother nobody."
"I'm thinking this is a dream,"
"I was just reading this article (about this killing) yesterday and I didn't know it was my brother."
Darrell Montgomery, who would have turned 34 next month, was found dead and dismembered outside his sixth-floor Flatbush apartment building on E. 21st St. near Ditmas Ave. Construction workers discovered his head and torso in a black plastic garbage bag in a blue trash bin after smelling a foul odor just after 9 a.m. Police cordoned off the apartment and searched for additional evidence. The remains were taken to the city Medical Examiner for autopsy and official identification. Family members arrived from out of state and reacted with shock and grief. Neighbors reported Montgomery had been living with a much taller man, possibly his boyfriend.
