The City Council approved a rezoning plan for two lots in Windsor Terrace that will enable the construction of 250 new apartments, including 100 affordable units, following local advocacy for increased housing affordability. The Arrow Linen proposal involves two 10-story buildings that will cater to families with more than 50% of affordable units being two- or three-bedroom apartments. The project also includes a community agreement for a daycare and support space for domestic violence survivors, ensuring community engagement and benefit.
Many Windsor Terrace residents fought for more affordable housing units to be included in the development and rezoning plan on the land where the Arrow Linen & Uniform Supply company currently sits.
This rezoning is one of the first to include affordable housing that the City Council has voted on following the City of Yes Zoning for Housing Opportunity and the City For All Housing Package.
