According to police, the child had climbed out of a crib without his parents noticing and pushed too hard on the side panels of a window air conditioner, tumbling out and falling 50 feet.
The Health Department is investigating the situation as an accident, while experts warned parents to install window safety guards to protect children from falls.
Neighbor Trena Taylor told ABC that the boy's parents were devastated by the fall: 'They were horrified, the mother was breaking down and the father just looked like he was in shock... these people love these kids,' she said.
