Officers received a call for a vehicle collision at 770 Eastern Pkwy. in Crown Heights at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday. According to police, someone drove their car over the sidewalk and into the building. A video posted to social media showed a dark colored Honda Accord repeatedly bashing into the doorway of the Chabad building."
"A longer version of the video posted to social media shows the driver getting out of the car and confronting bystanders. NYPD officers were shown detaining the driver. Police confirmed with PIX11 News that the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. Rabbi Yaacov Berhman, who handles public relations for Chabad-Lubavitch HQ, said the synagogue was evacuated out of precaution."

The Anti-Defamation League called the building not only a synagogue but the worldwide Chabad headquarters and a beloved symbol of Judaism.
