This free, self-guided event transforms 1.5 miles of Atlantic Avenue into an open-air gallery, featuring various art forms across diverse venues, including galleries and restaurants. Special events enhance the experience, such as curator-led tours and a live painting session by artist Ibou Ndoye. The event promotes not only art appreciation but also local commerce, inviting attendees to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and local businesses.
More than 100 local artists will showcase their work in 70 small businesses during the Annual Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk, returning Saturday, May 10, through Sunday, May 18.
ArtWalk is the perfect marriage of art and commerce. We want everyone to walk the avenue while they enjoy the art and discover beautiful merchandise.
In addition to the main exhibition, several special events are planned, including curator's tours led by Grace Freedman.
A live painting session by Senegalese artist Ibou Ndoye will take place at 330 Atlantic Ave., where he will demonstrate his artistic process in real time.
