A murder suspect in Brooklyn was shot dead by police after leading cops on a pursuit through the borough Thursday afternoon, resulting in 19 shots fired.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in Fort Greene, leading to the pursuit and eventual confrontation that ended in the shooting at Utica Avenue.
Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey highlighted the bravery of the officers involved, stating, 'The men and women of this department are extremely brave, and tonight, we were extremely lucky.'
Despite the chaos of the pursuit and shooting, no officers were injured, nor was a 3-year-old child found in the suspect's car.
