Christopher Benitez, 33, was arraigned for allegedly assaulting a 37-year-old pregnant woman on a J train in Jamaica. The attack occurred unprovoked on February 25, leaving the victim with a laceration and bruising. Benitez has a lengthy criminal history with 16 prior arrests. After being identified in surveillance footage, he confessed to the act during police questioning. His bail was set at $15,000 following the arraignment in Queens Criminal Court.
"I hit the lady," Benitez told the detective. "She sat right in front of me and gave me a f-king attitude, bro."
