Briefly

Monjmaa Sanoh graduated from Uncommon Charter High School and is now a camp counselor at Camp Uncommon in Maine. She returned to give back to the camp she loved as a child. Camp Uncommon serves over 500 predominantly Black and Brown campers from under-resourced communities, offering typical camp activities alongside values-based programs. The camp's mission is to enhance personal development, encouraging independence, curiosity, and self-confidence in a safe, joyful environment.
"I came back as a counselor because I wanted to give the same experiences I had to new kids," Sanoh said.
"It's a transformative experience that supports the academic, social, and personal development of students in powerful ways," Callahan said.
Camp Uncommon provides campers with a safe, joyful space to grow into their best selves. At camp, kids also learn to trust and be open to new experiences and new people."
