On February 18, a construction crane in Brooklyn toppled onto a parked dollar van and a nearby store parapet, injuring two occupants of the van. The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on Glenwood Road, not far from Nostrand Avenue. Fire officials revealed that the crane operator, employed by Newcastle Building Products of New Jersey, was trying to adjust for the weight of materials being transported when the crane unexpectedly fell. Fortunately, the injuries sustained were minor.
