Boy, 5, miraculously survives plummet from 5th-story window of NYC apartment complex: sources

A 5-year-old boy fell from a fifth-story window of a Brooklyn NYCHA building on Avenue V in Sheepshead Bay around noon. The child suffered head trauma and a broken arm but was conscious and alert when first responders arrived. Emergency personnel transported the boy to Maimonides Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. The boy lives in the apartment with his mother and two older brothers, ages 12 and 13, who informed their mother of the fall. Neighbors and a visiting nurse reported that the boy was talking and verbal at the scene. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
