"STATEWIDE - NEW YORK ATTORNEY GENERAL Letitia James and a bipartisan coalition of 34 other attorneys general are demanding stronger safeguards from Elon Musk's xAI to prevent its AI chatbot, Grok, from generating and circulating inappropriate, nonconsensual images on X, according to a Monday press release from the Office of the Attorney General of New York. In a letter to the company, the coalition said recent changes to Grok fall short of protecting children and women from harassment and exploitation."
"The attorneys general called on xAI to detail how it will permanently block Grok from producing nonconsensual intimate images, including altered photos depicting people in sexualized or revealing scenarios and to eliminate content already created. They also urged xAI to suspend users responsible for generating harmful material, report offenders to authorities, give users control over whether Grok can edit their content and ensure safeguards meaningfully reduce abuse rather than shifting it behind a paywall."
