Assemblyman Colton Celebrates 100th Birthday of WWII Veteran Boris Sirota

"I was delighted to join in celebrating this significant birthday with my constituent, Boris Sirota," said Assemblyman Colton. "He has had a rich, full life, with many significant achievements, and deserves all the accolades he is receiving as he marks his 100th birthday. I am honored to have been a part of this important occasion."
Sirota, born in Ukraine, fought valiantly for the Allies during World War II. His service included participating in the liberation of Warsaw and the capture of Berlin. Despite being seriously wounded during the war, he returned to military duty after a six-month recovery.
Following the war, Sirota earned a degree and became a mathematics teacher in Ukraine. In 1992, he emigrated to the United States. He is a father of two sons, six grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
