The Scandinavian East Coast Museum celebrated its annual Viking Fest at Owl's Head Park on May 10, showcasing Viking traditions like games and performances. Despite initial concerns over location due to unexpected fencing, President Victoria Hofmo confirmed the day went smoothly, fostering community spirit with attendees from diverse backgrounds. The event remembered Bob Carlson, a museum member, with games named in his honor. Performers included accordionist Ellen Lindstrom and Ukrainian dancer Alexandra Bayeva, contributing to the festival's lively atmosphere and sense of community.
It was such a wonderful day because so many folks of all ethnicities and ages attended... It was truly a cozy, chill and fun time.
We had a wonderful Viking Fest this year and the weather was amazing... all was seamless.
