A New Era of Caribbean Innovation Begins in Flatbush
Briefly

The Caribbean Venture Collective (CVC), launched in March 2025, has established its headquarters in Brooklyn's Little Caribbean, a vibrant and diverse community with a significant Caribbean-American population. CVC's mission is to empower early-stage tech founders from the Caribbean by providing an equity-free fellowship that offers mentorship and visibility. The initiative responds to the challenges faced by Caribbean entrepreneurs, enabling access to resources while maintaining cultural ties. Co-founders Mita Carriman and Daniel Smith emphasize the importance of supporting visionary ideas often overlooked in conventional venture capital.
"Little Caribbean is a symbol of diaspora solidarity and what becomes possible when culture and community align," said Mita Carriman, co-founder of Caribbean Venture.
"For too long, Caribbean entrepreneurs with world-changing ideas have struggled to break through-not because they lacked vision, but because they lacked venture-backed support," said Daniel Smith, co-founder of Caribbean Venture Collective.
