The Brooklyn Org Spark Breakfast highlighted the vital role of nonprofits in community support as five organizations received $100,000 Spark Prizes for their impactful work. With federal funding cuts and rescinded grants threatening services, Dr. Jocelynne Rainey urged the community to rally behind local nonprofits. Selected from a pool of 20, the winners focus on diverse areas such as childhood literacy and culinary training, showcasing how essential these organizations are in enhancing community well-being and providing necessary services to residents.
"It's imperative that we stand in support for our local community and the nonprofits that are the backbone of our neighborhoods," said Dr. Jocelynne Rainey.
