A tragic fire in a Scarborough highrise resulted in one death, as a ninth-floor unit was engulfed in flames from 8:30 p.m. until around 10 p.m.
Toronto police reported that after the fire broke out, disturbing accounts emerged of windows shattering and debris falling from the building, increasing concerns.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, while police and fire services worked together to manage the chaos and secure the area with road closures.
