State trooper seriously injured by alleged hit-and-run driver on Mass. Pike in Chicopee

In the early hours of Tuesday, a Massachusetts State Police trooper was severely injured in a hit-and-run incident on I-95 near exit 51 in Chicopee. The trooper was engaged in a traffic stop when the driver struck him and subsequently fled the scene. Authorities quickly apprehended the suspect and closed the highway for the investigation. The injured trooper was taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey expressed her prayers for the trooper's recovery and urged road safety for all drivers.
