'Postcard from Morocco' brings opera back to Lowell House - Harvard Gazette

Lowell House Opera made a triumphant return to its original venue with 'Postcard from Morocco' after an eight-year absence, necessitated by renovations and COVID-19 delays. Set in a 1914 train station, it explores the human experience through seven diverse travelers, each symbolized by a unique possession. The creative team utilized stained-glass films and colored lighting to enhance the dining hall's atmosphere. The cast included a mix of students, alumni, and professionals, highlighting the company's commitment to inclusivity. Future productions, including 'Parade in Concert,' are already in planning.

The performers inhabited their roles with astonishing ease," said stage director Haley Stark '25. "With minimal direction, they brought their characters to life in ways that felt deeply intuitive.
