Governor Maura Healey launched a recruitment website, mass.gov/fedup, aimed at helping laid-off federal employees, specifically those affected by recent government workforce reductions. The initiative addresses over 46,000 federal workers in Massachusetts, inviting them to apply for various local jobs through state agencies. Healey emphasized the need for these workers' skills, promising support and employment resources. This move follows significant federal cutbacks that reportedly left many public servants without positions, drawing attention to the negative impacts of such workforce reductions, especially on essential public services.
"We need your skills, your knowledge and your purpose. Come make a difference with us at Team Massachusetts," Healey said in a short clip at the top of the site.
Through the website, state agencies like the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Department of Transportation have dozens of jobs listed on the MassCareers job board.
