Kerry priest in New York gets heavenly visit from Sam Maguire - 'It meant an awful lot to me'
"Killarney native Fr Brendan Fitzgerald welcomed a special guest at his Mass last Sunday when the Sam Maguire Cup made its way up the aisle of St Barnabas Church in the Bronx."

Fr Brendan Fitzgerald, a native of Killarney, welcomed a special guest at Mass when the Sam Maguire Cup was brought up the aisle of St Barnabas Church in the Bronx. Fitzgerald is a well-known New York GAA chaplain. The previous evening, he attended the organisation’s annual dinner dance. Kerry County Board Vice Chairman Liam Lynch and players from Kerry brought both the Sam Maguire Cup and the Bishop Moynihan Cup to the celebration. The cups were presented during the event before the Sam Maguire Cup appeared at the Mass the following day.
