Richard Perrault, a 70-year-old man from Clinton, Connecticut, tragically passed away during a solo hike on the Valley Way Trail in New Hampshire. Witnesses reported that he collapsed around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Bystanders promptly intervened, calling 9-1-1 and administering CPR until help arrived. The Army National Guard deployed a helicopter crew to the scene, and conservation officers also responded on foot. Despite the combined efforts of everyone involved, Perrault was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Gorham Municipal Airport for medical assistance.
