California State Treasurer Fiona Ma has closed the harassment case against her, as the complainant Judith Blackwell abandons her claim, ending a three-year ordeal.
Ma asserts that the lawsuit was frivolous and fabricated, stating, 'I have been completely vindicated, and can continue my work on affordable housing, climate action and job creation without distraction.'
Blackwell's attorney stated, 'My client is excited that we came to an amicable resolution of her case... this case presents that no one is above the law.'
Despite the resolution not being a reflection of wrongdoing, the State of California is required to pay Blackwell $350,000, raising questions about accountability.
