Joc Pederson believes that his "built-up aggression and anger" contributed to the Texas Rangers' comeback victory against the New York Yankees after trailing in the ninth inning. After struggling with form this season and returning from injury, Pederson hit a home run that tied the game before his teammate Josh Jung secured the win in the 10th. The Rangers had not managed a comeback win of three or more runs yet this season, which made this victory significant for the team.
"There was a lot of excitement and a lot of built-up aggression and anger from the long season it's been," said Pederson.
"We haven't really been known for comeback wins this year. You get behind and it feels like you're in quicksand. We really pulled together," Pederson stated.
