The White Sox announced they traded minor league pitcher Alex Speas to the Athletics in exchange for cash considerations. This is the third trade general manager Chris Getz made in the same week for cash considerations.
The White Sox claimed Speas in October 2023 and he has been playing for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. He has only pitched 2.1 innings this season, allowing four earned runs.
