The Blue Jays and Diamondbacks have emerged as the most aggressive alternate suitors, with the Cubs and Tigers also showing interest. Bregman is seeking a six-year contract as his market strengthened from last offseason. Last offseason he declined six-year offers from the Tigers and Astros and instead signed a three-year, $120 million deal with Boston that included opt-outs after the first and second seasons. Projections place his market near five years, $170 million or six years, $171 million. This offseason could be his final chance for a major long-term payday.
