The Tigers scored four runs on four hits in the top of the 10th inning en route to the series-splitting win. Red Sox reliever Cam Booser allowed three earned runs on four hits and threw 28 pitches. Boston is now 0-25 when trailing after seven innings.
Jamie Westbrook, in his MLB debut, drew a walk to load the bases for the Red Sox in the bottom of the ninth, but Connor Wong's flyout ended the threat, and Detroit later secured the win.
Tigers shortstop Javier Baez's two-run single in the 10th inning and Andy Ibáñez's RBI double contributed to Detroit's lead. Red Sox's Rafael Devers tied the game in the eighth with a solo homer.
