Yohan Ramírez was designated for assignment after a rough outing but cleared waivers to be sent to Triple-A Worcester alongside McGuire. Other roster moves saw pitchers Chase Anderson and Brandon Walter being released.
Trey Wingenter, acquired by the Red Sox in a trade with the Tigers, was designated for assignment and claimed off waivers by the Cubs.
