The Boston Red Sox made an injury-related infield swap on Thursday, bringing back infielder Nick Sogard to fill the roster spot of David Hamilton.
Hamilton, who is being placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left index finger fracture, had valuable contributions this season with 33 stolen bases.
Sogard previously made his MLB debut with the Red Sox on August 2, highlighting his potential with nine runs scored in just 12 games.
