Red Sox Prospect Earns Unique Nickname Due To Plate Discipline
Briefly

Chase Meidroth, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound Boston Red Sox prospect, has exhibited exceptional plate discipline with 83 hits, 71 walks, and only 40 strikeouts in 80 Triple-A Worcester games this season.
"We actually call him Force Field down there... Because it seems like he just gets up there and walks. It's like he doesn't swing at balls ever," said Red Sox infielder Jaime Westbrook about Meidroth's impressive walk rate.
Meidroth leads all Red Sox minor leaguers in on-base percentage, showcasing a .436 OBP, attributing his success to his high walk rate, along with a .286 batting average, three home runs, and 36 RBIs.
"Having him at the top of the lineup definitely helps everybody out... to be such a young hitter and understand the strike zone and his game, it's fun to watch," Westbrook praised Meidroth's impact on the team.
