The Orix Buffaloes have secured a contract with former A's infielder Jordan Diaz, who after a challenging major league stint, transitioned to the Nippon Professional Baseball league.
In the major leagues, Diaz struggled offensively with a .227 batting average, leading the A's to option him to Triple-A, where he significantly improved his performance.
Despite his lackluster major league numbers, Diaz's impressive .301 batting average and 22 home runs in Triple-A indicate his potential for success in Japan.
By moving to the Buffaloes in Japan instead of remaining in affiliated minor league baseball, Diaz aims to capitalize on his strong minor league campaign.
