The Braves have signed catcher Curt Casali to a minor league contract, marking his 11th different organization in 14 professional seasons.
Casali’s most productive stretch came with Cincinnati from 2018-2020, hitting .260/.345/.440 across 485 plate appearances, working nearly as a timeshare catcher.
With his offensive numbers tailing off and a subpar Statcast rating last season, Casali might be facing the effects of age as he turns 36.
The Braves face a transitional phase at catcher after declining Travis d'Arnaud's option and look to evaluate depth in spring training sessions.
