Brandon Nimmo Limited By Right Knee Soreness
Briefly

Brandon Nimmo recently returned to action with the Mets after recovering from knee soreness and inflammation. Despite a prior issue with plantar fasciitis, he is less concerned about his foot now. An adjustment in his swing is thought to have contributed to his current knee problems, coupled with past injuries. Nimmo reported that he is running at around 80 percent capacity and managing pain levels to avoid further damage. There is optimism that he can prepare for Opening Day, albeit starting in a designated hitter role.
For sure, there's definitely still some soreness [and] still some pain when I get above those levels. We try to keep things at a controlled level of pain.
The plan is for Nimmo to get into the '90-95 percent' range before he starts to focus on more high-impact outfield activity.
