Cora revealed that had negotiations failed, he would likely have left coaching for the 2025 season to return to media in Puerto Rico, stating, "It was real. It wasn't fake." His previous media experience with ESPN confirmed this as a viable option.
Cora expressed uncertainty about his future demand in the coaching market, saying, "I don't know who really likes me, (doesn't) like me because of what happened in the past or who I am... I honestly feel like (the outcome) probably (would have been) go home for a year and see what happens."
Despite the uncertainties, Cora is pleased with his future with the Red Sox, stating, "This is home for us. I'm glad we're going to do it for three more years and then we'll see what happens."
