In December of 2016, the Red Sox seemingly mortgaged part of their future for the now. Then-Red Sox President of Baseball Operations, Dave Dombrowski, never squeamish about sacrificing the farm for a chance to win, sent third base prospect Yoán Moncada, fire-throwing righty Michael Kopech, and long-shot prospects Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Diaz, to the White Sox for Sale, a perennial ace.
