The Celtics selected Creighton forward Baylor Scheierman with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft Wednesday night. With the final pick of the first round, the Celtics added a 6-foot-6, 205-pound sharpshooter.
Scheierman was a third-team All-American selection by the Associated Press. He's the first player in Division I men's basketball history with at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, and 300 3-pointers.
A tall, left-handed shooter with range, Scheierman made a 3-pointer in 48 consecutive games while at Creighton. He played three seasons at South Dakota State before transferring to Creighton for his final two seasons.
Scheierman helped lead Creighton to the Sweet 16 during this past year's NCAA Tournament, where the Blue Jays fell to Tennessee.
