Before the Celtics selected him with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Baylor Scheierman set the Nebraska state record for single-season passing yards (3,924) and touchdowns (59) as a high-school quarterback.
Scheierman's football skill-set helped prepare him for the hardwood. He was a First-Team All-Big East selection, averaging 18.5 points, 9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.
"I think playing football definitely helped me continue to develop [my playmaking]," Scheierman said. "Basketball is kind of the same thing... my ability to see the court and anticipate things before it happens."
"After my junior year, going through the NBA Draft process and getting feedback, I felt that I needed to move up and challenge myself again," Scheierman said about transferring to Creighton.
