Jamil and Jalal Paul, twin brothers and pilots for United Airlines, have pursued their dream of aviation together since childhood. Raised in New Jersey, they credit their father, Gerald, whose own dream of becoming a pilot was hindered by a lack of resources. Determined to provide opportunities that he didn't have, Gerald encouraged his sons, emphasizing the importance of representation in aviation. Today, the brothers fly together and serve as role models in an industry that often lacks diversity.
We would never see an aviator that looked like us all the way through our collegiate career, but he (dad) said that's because you have to be what you have to see.
We knew we wanted to fly since we were four years old, and we followed that path together.
Our dad made sure there were no barriers for us in pursuit of our aviation dreams.
Growing up, our father was instrumental in guiding our ambitions towards becoming pilots.
