Ãtoile, a new ballet dramedy on Prime Video, features a star-studded cast and a focus on the ballet community. Created by Amy and Dan Palladino, the series follows ballet companies from New York and Paris as they exchange talented stars to invigorate ticket sales. The show includes performances from renowned dancers and emphasizes artistry and realistic portrayals, largely due to the contributions of choreographer Marguerite Derricks. With a commitment to authenticity, Ãtoile stands out by center staging the world of ballet in an engaging narrative.
"What I really love is the class, the artful choices," Robbie Fairchild, a former principal dancer with New York City Ballet, tells The Hollywood Reporter of the series. Fairchild plays Larry in Ãtoile - you can spot him rehearsing a duet by Tobias Bell (Gideon Glick) in episode one.
"Choreographers, we do so much without credit," Derricks says. "It's something we're used to doing anyway, but Amy is so dialed into everything. She really embraced me into this project, even before pen went to paper."
