Savard, who played 807 NHL games with the Bruins, Flames, Rangers, and Thrashers, joins the Maple Leafs after coaching stints with the Flames and Windsor Spitfires. He reunites with head coach Craig Berube, having served under him with the Blues in 2019-20.
Despite his career being cut short by concussions, Savard's impact is recognized through 207 goals, 499 assists, and two All-Star appearances. His retirement, announced in 2018, followed a successful playing career that led to his inclusion in the Bruins 'Historic 100'.
