Don Sweeney Takes Emphatic Stance On Bruins' Linus Ullmark Trade
Briefly

"We made a very difficult decision because Linus had been an outstanding Bruin," Sweeney told reporters Monday morning, as seen on NESN. "How we were building out our team -- that's just the areas we were going to target as a result of that. I don't regret that decision one bit in terms of the decision we made to move forward and attack some of the areas we felt we could benefit from."
Perhaps Sweeney's maintained conviction stems from the belief that it's only a matter of time before Swayman and the Bruins will work something out. Boston's general manager also could have confidence in Joonas Korpisalo, who is in line to start the club's season opener next Tuesday in Florida.
Regardless, it wasn't feasible for the B's to keep both Swayman and Ullmark on the roster heading into the 2024-25 season. Sweeney needed to make a choice, and he made the one he felt was in the best interest of the franchise.
