Training camp opened without the Jeremy Swayman contract dispute from last year, though Day One included a small blip. General manager Don Sweeney said David Pastrnak will miss the first few days of camp with tendinitis and did not specify the affected body area. Pastrnak remains on the ice and is expected to join full practice early next week. Bruins players completed physical testing on Wednesday and will take the ice for the first time on Thursday. The team opted for load management after Pastrnak developed tendinitis during his last training block. The temporary absence creates opportunities for other players to earn roles.
