Bruins Place Important Forward On Injured Reserve
Briefly

Mark Kastelic, forward for the Boston Bruins, has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to January 20 after not playing the third period in the last game due to an injury. Prior to this, Kastelic had just returned to the lineup on January 18 and had contributed with an assist and a fight. His absence is felt as he is a key player in the Bruins' bottom six, having recently signed an extension with the team. In 45 games this season, he has recorded four goals, 13 points, and significant physical contributions.
Kastelic, 25, just returned to the Bruins' lineup on Jan. 18 against the Ottawa Senators, where he recorded an assist and dropped the gloves against former teammate Zack Ostapchuk.
It is certainly tough to see Kastelic heading back to injured reserve so quickly. The 6-foot-4 forward has become such an important part of the Bruins' bottom six.
With Kastelic being placed on injured reserve, the Bruins have also recalled Max Jones and Patrick Brown.
Kastelic has four goals, 13 points, 175 hits, and 86 penalty minutes in 45 contests with the Bruins this season.
