David Pastrnak is in a slump offensively, with only two goals in his last 12 games. His drop in scoring comes at a troubling time for the Bruins, who have struggled as an overall team in finding the net, averaging two goals or fewer over the last five games.
Interim coach Joe Sacco expressed confidence in Pastrnak, stating, "I think that I'm going to leave him alone a little bit here, give him some space... he’s too good of a hockey player. So just give him some space and hopefully he finds that touch."
Captain Brad Marchand stressed the collective nature of scoring struggles, saying, "The goal-scoring issues don't fall on one person. Sometimes goals come easier than other times... if that's the case, then we just have to compete and battle harder to get goals."
