Bruins' Charlie McAvoy underwent facial surgery, no timeline for return
""We just want to try something different,"Sturm told reporters in Anaheim. "Other guys have to step up. I think that's the bottom line. It can't be Zadorov and Lindholm all the time. We need more guys to step up and hopefully switching the pairs and players, maybe it's going to help us.""
""We're all ready and excited to play with our new (partners) and jump at the opportunity," said Peeke."
""Guys have to step up, up and down the lineup. Top guys have to be top top guys aand guys that have come up have to contribute. Everybody has to find their role, whether it's scoring go"
Charlie McAvoy underwent facial surgery after being struck in the mouth by a slapshot and has no timeline for return, recuperating at home in Boston. McAvoy previously missed a season after shoulder surgery and infection and had been rebuilding his game and leadership role alongside David Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm. After a slow start under coach Marco Sturm, McAvoy improved when paired with Nikita Zadorov, recording 14 assists in 19 games. Sturm adjusted defensive pairings ahead of a road trip to Anaheim, pairing Zadorov with Jonathan Aspirot and Lindholm with Henri Jokiharju, recalling Michael Callahan as a healthy scratch.
